Programme Objective:

To enable participants to quote audience metrics, to size and price advertisements, and explain key content and reader and advertiser value of the print and online products they will be selling

Programme Learning Outcomes:

  • I can explain how audiences to newspapers and websites are measured
  • I can describe the size and profile of the audience for any newspaper that I am selling
  • I can explain the size of the audience for any website I am selling
  • I can explain audience demographics in a way that advertisers can understand
  • I can describe the content of each and any of the newspapers I will be selling to an advertiser
  • I can describe the content of each and any of the websites I will be selling to an advertiser
  • I can quote advertising rates for the newspapers and websites I will be selling (my section / category)
  • I can work out the correct cost of a single advertisement, of any size, for my section, in any newspaper that I will be selling
  • I can explain to an advertiser what discounts are available and on what terms for my section
